The first lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan will earn no salary as a permanent secretary in Bayelsa State.
Mrs Jonathan who will work from Abuja, was appointed was appointed alongside 17 other civil servants by the governor of Bayelsa, Seriake Dickson.
This was disclosed through her spokesperson, Ayo Osinlu in an interview with Premium Times, an online newspaper.
He pointed out that her appointment was just part of the state governments duty in appointing people into the service.
“She is on leave of absence, She is not going to function in the office of the permanent secretary in Bayelsa state,It is a civil service position; she is a staff of the Bayelsa state civil service,” he said.
