"ANOTHER 'Call Me Maybe' Cover?" Well, the answer is yes, as the USA Olympic swim team has come together to release the latest cover of Carly Rae Jepsen's incredibly catchy tune.
while the 2012 USA Olympic swim team has been working incredibly hard to prepare for the London Olympics, they took some time out of their busy schedules to make the latest "Call Me Maybe" lip synch video.
The video, which includes the likes of Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps, was made while the hard-working athletes were taking breaks from practice laps and warm-ups. It was organized by swimmers Alyssa Anderson, Kathleen Hersey, and Caitlin Leverenz, according to the USA Swimming team's website, in an attempt to blow off a little steam while preparing for the challenging event. "The 'Call Me Maybe' parody video has become some sort of Internet citizenship test by this point. If you haven't done one, you may not actually be online and instead are only reading a series of Word documents from 2008."
Well, it seems that the USA Olympic Swim Team can now officially claim their internet citizenship with the video, which was tweeted by several of the team's athletes, quickly becoming a hit.
About 95 percent of the swim team was featured in the video, according to USA Swimming, and it was "polished up" by USA Swimming staff member Russell Mark, according to NBC Chicago, who also reports that: "Highlights include a perfectly over-the-top airplane sequence (1:04), an almost-kiss à-la Bollywood flick (2:29), and a reluctant participant being a very good sport (1:45). And for all the Ryan Lochte fans, he blows a kiss at 1:02."
