What else can you say to defend a country that failed at her best sport that she's best know to the world for. Nigeria use to be a legend in football (soccer) in Africa and to the world as a whole, winning and becoming the first African nation to win an Olympic or World Cup soccer tournament but failed to qualify for the London Olympics 2012.

Atlanta, 1996: In these Games, teams were permitted for the first time to have three players 23-years of age or older. Nigeria became the first African nation to win an Olympic or World Cup soccer tournament. In a stirring semifinal against Brazil, Nigeria scored twice in the final 13 minutes to force overtime, and then won, 4-3, on a goal from Nwankwo Kanu. Nigeria repeated its late-game magic in the final against Argentina, scoring in the final minute of regulation to win, 3-2. Brazil -- whose roster included Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, and Bebeto -- routed Portugal, 5-0, for the bronze medal.

It is a disgrace that a country with the resources and the population of Nigeria cannot even get a single medal. With the population of about 170, 000,000 (170million) people, It's definitely would be an understatement to say Nigeria don't have athletes to win just a single bronze medal in the Olympics or why are we so bad? Even the Kenyans and the Ethiopians have more medal somehow. What do you think is the problem here, the people? the government? or the nation as a whole? Who's going to come to Nigeria's aide.
