Facbook now own Whatsapp for $19billion

Facebook has acquired Whatsapp, the most popular messaging app for smartphones for $19billion. Facebook scooping up all potential rivals in messaging app, such as buying the photo-sharing app; instagram for $1billion in 2012. Facebook said it will pay WhatsApp $4 billion in cash and $12 billion in stock. WhatsApp's founders and staff will be eligible for for another $3 billion in stock grants to be paid out if they remain employed by Facebook for four years. Whatsapp CEO Jan Koum will also join Facebook's board of directors.

Afghanistan Taliban Vows to 'Kill or Kidnap' Prince Harry

Prince Harry is being targeted for death in Afghanistan ... so says a rep for the Taliban (yes, they have a rep). Harry -- a helicopter pilot in the British military -- is currently on a 4 month tour in Afghanistan ... where he is reportedly fighting Taliban insurgents on the front lines.
Obviously, his presence has pissed off the Taliban ... and now terrorist spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tells Reuters the group has made it a top priority to kill or kidnap the Prince.
"We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping," Mujahid said during a phone interview either conducted in a cave ... or a suburb in Pakistan.
During the interview, Mujahid referred to the Taliban plans as the "Harry Operations" ... added, "We have informed our commanders in Helmand to do whatever they can to eliminate him."

According to the Guardian, four members of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Olympic delegation have been missing in London since the weekend.
Among the missing are Cedric Mandembo, a judoka who lost his match in the 100kg category in 49 seconds, and his coach Ibula Masengo, Congo boxing trainer Blaise Bekwa and national technical director of athletics Guy Nkita.
All four members of the team reportedly left their luggage in the Olympic Village.

Oscar Pistorius, the Olympic Games' first ever double-amputee competitor, says he deserves to be in London. Christopher Nowak, Director of National Veterans Sports Programs, explains the challenges Pistorius will face against 'able-bodied' athletes.

Despite failing to meet South African Olympic standards, Oscar Pistorius, the double-amputee runner who won a court battle to run against able-bodied athletes in international competitions, will compete in the 400 meters at the upcoming London Olympics.
Pistorius was selected for both the 400 and 4x400 relay by South Africa's Olympic committee in a surprise decision. He will become the first amputee to run at the Summer Olympics.

It's going to take a miracle effort for Nigeria to upset Team USA on Thursday afternoon, but it could happen if just about everyone on the Nigerian squad has the performance of his lifetime...and then some.
The Americans are heavily favored, but Nigeria could at least keep the game close under the right circumstances and with a little luck.
So far, Nigeria has gone 1-1, edging out a victory against Tunisia to open play and then barely keeping the margin under 20 points in a loss to Lithuania.
If these three players truly step it up, the game with the USA might be a close contest.
